I designed and art-directed the anniversary box “Sx in Sense” for the Japanese incense brand Bridge and Blend, which invites users to experience Japanese tradition through fragrance.Created to mark the brand’s first anniversary, the book-shaped box is designed to be enjoyed as a miniature encyclopaedia of scents. On the cover, I illustrated an auspicious scene of zuiun (lucky clouds), behind which the plants used as raw materials for incense grow quietly and abundantly.While honouring the Japanese aesthetic and the atmosphere of the Genji Monogatari era, from which the six fragrances draw inspiration, the overall design, from structure to form, aims to balance classical sensibilities with a contemporary sense of refinement.
